Gabriel Belot French Artist View of Bridge Over Seine River WC Painting

Gabriel Belot (France, 1882-1961) became a member of the *Société des Artistes Indépendants* in 1910. In 1911, he exhibited at the *Salon des Indépendants* and began creating woodcuts; he was a regular exhibitor at the Salon until 1927. Belot was close to Romain Rolland and illustrated his book *Colas Breugnon* in 1924. His body of work includes numerous engravings, views of Paris, drop caps, watercolors, oil paintings, drawings, still lifes, and landscapes of the Yonne and Jura regions. He exhibited at the Galerie Émile Martin in 1933[8]. As a member of the *Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts*, he exhibited there regularly between 1914 and 1936. Belot primarily exhibited in Liège and Brussels. He served as vice-president of the *Société de la Gravure Originale*, and a significant portion of his work is held at the Musée Carnavalet.
