It wasn’t all bad though; it was just between THESE trees. There are others, you know. Moths turned into arms turned into scars on trees.Clouds turned into birds turned into strange ecstasies. Roots grow longernot stronger;the soil loosens to let them in. Under all this is the strange severe sense that the goings on between the treesare like a play with no author,a show that never stops,games playedbattles wonand lostand everything in between.
