«Returns to God and Nature» (and Stringed Insturments) Lucy Mitchell (1936 2018)

This series of paintings were painted during the mid 1980’s while staying in her mother’s home. Inspired by the fanciful idea of a modest housebound legally blind woman in her 60’s, armed with her ever present crusifix becomes a spy. These paintings depicting scenes from her imaginary excapades.
