Sermon on the Alter: Oil painting on canvas board 25-5/8 X 21-5/8

My take on the original is a clergyman chastising a youth for a fleeting indiscretion with a young woman. He has gotten her in the motherly way. The lecture entails how one transitory moment of lust can change the course of both of the participants’ lives. The admonition coming a bit too late. The original was called «Alexander the Great in the Temple of Jerusalem». This would fit perfectly into a formal living setting or as an addition to an eclectic blend of more contemporary with a splash of color. It is an original in terms of the painting, curation and framing.

18th Century British Navel Ship Painting Peter Monamy HMS Peregine

18th century painting attributed to Peter Monamy (1681-1749) Depicting the HMS Peregine ( Royal Carolina), anchored ofshore, presumably Rochester , firing the morning gun salute. The frame measures 22″ by 16″ , and the canvas measures 18″ by 12″. The painting has no losses of paint , and no flaking. It has some craquelure, and would benefit greatly with a cleaning. No signature in sight, as many are, but possibly after cleaning? Shipping is well packaged and insured. We ship internationally.

Portrait Miniature Georgian 18th Century 1 3/4″ Fine Hand Painted Details Rare

THIS IS A VERY RARE GEORGIAN 18TH CENTURY HAND PAINTED PORTRAIT MINIATURE OF A WOMAN WHICH IS 1 3/4 INCHES TALL – BEAUTIFULLY DONE BY A WONDERFUL ARTIST WITH A STUNNING FACE AND HAIR WITH A RIBBON AND BOW. The quality of the painting is superb. She has stunningly beautiful eyes, the hair has extraordinary detail, and the face is truly magnificent! I believe this is from the 18th Century. The quality is the best. I am not sure of what the portrait is painted on. The portrait is encased in a perspex or some sort of material. It is 1 3/4 inches (45mm) in diameter. It has a hook for hanging. Shipping: Although our shipping time states 15 days, we try to get pieces out within a few days. We list the 15 days in case we are traveling. Many thanks for your understanding.
