This is a beautiful Hand Colored Etching by listed artist John Collette. This piece is professionally framed with the original Certificate of Authenticity attached on the back. This wood frame has a glass front with beautiful matting. The artwork is signed by the artist on the bottom right, dated on bottom left and has the name of the piece in the center bottom. All of this was hand signed by John Collette in pencil. The measurements of the just the artwork are 15-1/2″ wide x 10-1/2″ tall. The measurements of the frame are 23-3/4″ wide x 18-1/2″ tall. The beautiful frame comes with hanging cable on back ready to be easily hung on your wall. This beautiful piece came from its original owner. Original antique 1888 oil painting by William Rickerby Miller depicting a wooded Hudson River School style landscape with figure and dog on a forest path. Signed lower left “W.R. Miller 1888.” Beautiful atmospheric composition with fine late 19th century detail and period gilt frame. Sight measures approximately 14 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches. Frame measures approximately 21 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches. Painting displays very well overall with age-related craquelure and a small area of paint/canvas loss at lower right as shown in photos. Antique frame with expected wear from age. Back retains old paper remnants and period construction. A strong authentic example of William Rickarby Miller’s American landscape work.
