Historical 1950 signed watercolour by Provincetown artist Ruth Cook

Unframed Interesting historical watercolour painting (10 ins x 13 ins) which I believe is a scene showing what is probably the finishing work on the Cape Cod Music Circus making it ready for the opening night of on July 4th 1950 in an open field at the intersection of Main Street and High School Road in Hyannis Massachusetts. It was named the Cape Cod Music Centre, the first of this type in New England. The painting is signed R. Cook bottom right and dated July 1950 the date of which coincides with the with the construction date of the circus tent. I am pretty sure the name of the artist refers to Ruth Rawson Cook (1903 – 1982) an artist born in Milwaukee who subsequently moved to Provincetown. She studied at the Layton School of Art and the Webster Art School Provincetown. She exhibited widely and on several occasions at the Provincetown Art Association. Image 3 shows a photograph of the circus in the subsequent month of August 1950. Image 4 shows a confirmed work by the artist which shows her distinctive style. Will be sent FedEx Express.
