Carol Kessler (1916-2004) was an outsider artist and designer in San Jose, CA for over 60 years. Although mainly self-taught, Carol trained at Stanford University under Anton Refregier. She was the wife of listed artist Friedolin Kessler (1913-1995).
In the 1984-6 period, he had at least a sale of a work at both Christie’s and Sotheby’s. along with notable dealer representation. Strange, at the blossoming of his career, he simply and quite totally withdrew as he continued painting, unknown why.
