Charles Garbutt Born: 1900 – Ontario, California Died: 1975 – Los Angeles, California Born in Ontario, CA on Aug. 25, 1900 of Canadian parents, Charles Garbutt began sketching farm animals as a child, and at age 15 was earning his living as an artist. A prolific artist, he worked in the art department of the Los Angeles Times, was author-illustrator of children's books, taught art at the Los Angeles Zoo for the Chouinard School of Art, and created drawings of Snow White and Bambi for Walt Disney.
