«Morning Camp» is another work of the «Camp» series of Crow Nation related pieces by Fred Duran. Duran, in our humble opinion, stands alone in this genre. Australian-born model Patricia Dow as seen through the eyes of William Verdult (1939-2016). Patricia Dow was a prolific model in the ’70s. Verdult really put in the work on her portrait.it’s a magnificent masterpiece.
Two ladies are dealing with a problem…one of them is going to get wet in order to retrieve that boat. The lady in the foreground seems to giving orders to the other – «you get the boat, I’ll wait here». Maybe it’s a tidal body of water, and the boat was against dry land when they disembarked for their picnic. Hungarian-born artist Imre Buvary painted a picture open to interpretation, and that’s ours. The beauty and wonder of fine art lies in the individual viewer’s take on it.
