Astrid Sheckels Massachusetts Artist Illustrator Hatfield Cows Farm WC Painting
Astrid Sheckels (Massachusetts, b.1984) is a member of The Western Mass Illustrators Guild and The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Astrid has won several art awards, including the renown Lupine Honor Award, several gold Moonbeam Awards, and two Northern Lights Book Awards. Astrid lives and has her studio in Greenfield, Massachusetts. She is a world class illustrator and most known for her Hector the Fox illustrations. The painting we have here is a very fine watercolor on paper depicting cows grazing along a fence on a summer day on the farm. The painting is signed lower right «Astrid Sheckels» and is housed in a nice simple black finished wooden frame with off-white mat and protective glass front.

The Mont Saint Jean farm is a famous historic location in Waterloo in what is now Belgium. It dates from the Middle Ages, was chartered by Henry I in 1219 and is famous for the 1815 Battle of Waterloo, which ended Napoleon’s rule over France.
