KIYOSHI SHIMIZU was the brother of painter TOSHI SHIMIZU. Kiyoshi is recognized as one of Seattle’s earliest most prominent artists. He relocated to San Francisco in 1921 and then attended the Art Students League in New York with his brother later that year.

I’m unfamiliar with the artist–though I never bothered to look him up even–whoever heis–God bless em.nice job here. You are looking at a rather amazing painting considering it’s size–the scope and breatht of the paintings is belied by its small size.
