20×24 Marilyn Todd-Daniels Thoroughbred Equestrian original oil on Canvas Framed
This wonderfully serene window into the imagination of Marilyn Todd-Daniels has been in our family for decades and has captured the hearts of many guests who came to visit. The size is 20×24 without the frame, which can be easily changed to fit the decor of your home. It is painted on canvas and professionally framed but the years have caused some staining and wear that could be easily remediated by a professional. I found a reciept where Marilyn Todd-Daniels sold an oil painting of their horse to the owners of the famous racehorse «Secretariat» along with some photos of the horse. The painting was only slightly bigger than the size of this one and sold for $6900 in 1991 dollars. While this was a commission piece, it still bears up as a guide to approximating the value of this piece that was procuded in 1977. From the late 1960s through the 1990s Marilyn Todd-Daniels paintings were featured on the covers of many horse and art magazines. While most of her art was commissioned from stable owners and large corporations, she painted about 5-10% simply for her artistic expression. This is one of those pieces. This painting hung in her home. Shipping will be by freight. Please allow a few days to build a wooden case and arrange shipment.
