Honestly, I don’t see who else this could be. As with 99.9% of artists, there’s no Expert on Frederick Butman. All I can say is what I think and why. One of the first California artists to devote himself exclusively to landscapes, as well as Yosemite, he also worked in Oregon’s Columbia River area and Washington in the 1860s.
