HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE THE ARTIST TO MAKE IT. THIS IS MY JOB AND A TRAVEL FAR TO GET EACH OF THESE THINGS. AND THAT IS THE COST TO PRY IT FROM MY HANDS. I AM A COLLECTOR. BE SURE YOU LOVE IT. EXPECT MILD DIFFERENCE.
Beautiful painting by artist Nathan Sumter from 1979. “Boy with Strawberry Eyes”. One of a kind . Oil on board , finished with a polyurethane overcoat . Measures about 23 by 29 in an ornate wood frame.
19th century genre school oil painting on canvas laid on board titled “Sunday Evening”. The composition depicts a young woman reading from a large book beside an elderly seated couple within a softly lit domestic interior illuminated by evening light from an open window. The scene includes hanging bird cages, a seated cat upon a stool, floral details and period furnishings rendered in warm brown and amber tones characteristic of Victorian narrative genre painting. The painting measures 34 by 42 cm and is presented in a gilt frame measuring 49.3 by 57.7 cm. A handwritten label verso attributes the work to Sir David Wilkie, though this attribution is not accepted. The painting displays heavy yellowing and extensive craquelure throughout with surface dirt, scuffing and age-related wear. Frame with tarnishing and wear consistent with age.
