Helen Alberta King was born in 1900 snd became a famous Virginia artist along with her artist husband Alvin Hattorf. They exhibited their works in many art shows on the East coast from 1941 until their deaths in the mid-1970s. Both of their oil paintings can now sell for over 5000 dollars. This is an early watercolor from Helen, before she started signing her name Helen King Hattorf. It has been painted on a large piece of thick paper board. The vibrant painting of boats and fishermen has been double matted to approximately 21×27 inches and is in very good condition for its age.
