Frans Storm was born on March 4, 1905 in Amsterdam. † In 1922 he moved as a house painter to Genkoppen and in 1929 to Zelhem where he drew a lot in addition to being a house painter. With his modest pocket money he bought painter's props and, in the absence of linen, he prepared cardboard or sugar bags. He was one of the few painters who made his own paints. † On March 17, 1941: “De Doetinchemse Kunstkring” was founded, of which Frans became a member and remained until just after the war. After that, the family left for Doetinchem and he finished his house painting because his wife provided the income with her pension. Apart from a few lessons from Otto Hanrath, he was an autodidact as a painter. Over the years he has tirelessly searched for his own style, from impressionist via expressionist to abstract. As a nature lover he sought the beauty of the Later also painted in France and in the Scandinavian countries. Frans was one of the few painters in the region with a reputation that extended beyond the national borders. There were many exhibitions, not only in the Netherlands, but also in Paris. Frans Storm died on November 12, 1998 in Doetinchem.
