An atmospheric 1955 still life by Japanese Free Artists Association member Kiyoshi Taku (清希卓). Rendered with expressive brushwork, the composition features a lively table arrangement of fruit and white blossoms, set against softly textured peach and green tones. After briefly working as a substitute teacher, he moved to Tokyo to pursue his artistic career and studied at the Kawabata Art School under Yoshio Shimizu. In the 1960s, Adachi studied still-life painting in Paris and was selected to represent Japan at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.

His father was a taylor. After graduating from the secondary school, Strehl attended the polytechnic college from 1821. He was also a talented painter, especially known as a flower painter who exhibited his works from 1836-44 at annual exhibitions.
