In the early 1940’s she moved to South Pasadena, becoming very active in that decade with a variety of art societies, such as the California Art Club, Laguna Beach Art Association, Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles, and Women Painters of the West. Measurements – 33″ by 27″ Good condition as shown. Some transfer of crayon onto glass. Should be taken apart on cleaned. Local pickup Ok – Huntington Beach or Los Alamitos, CA. Signature is required is on any item valued over $500. International Buyers must have good feedback. I do not sell to third party bidders / freight forwarders – including seikamon (Shop Airlines America). These bids will be blocked and winning bidders will not be honored. Everything sold as is, ask questions in advance. If you have 0 feedback you must contact me prior to bidding. Please note, shipping calculators can be very tricky – and often wrong. I ship whichever method is most cost effective for you – regardless of what the auction states. 80% of the time the package will ship via the stated service (ie: fed ex home, priority mail, etc) however I will occasionaly have to switch services in order to not lose money on shipping. Also, I do try and combine shipping if you buy multiple items – this almost always means it will ship FED EX since it is more cost effective for heavier packages. Shipping may be higher for P.O. Box, especially for larger items. All international shipments may take up to 3 days before being shipped out (Due to customs procedures, regulations, & required in person drop off)
This is an original oil on canvas depicting a nude woman in blue. Paint is thick and textured in places. I have owned for 25+ years.
The painting is executed with fine detail, characteristic of the academic portraiture style popular during the late 1800s.
