Original contemporary Emil Brand ink or grisaille-toned painting on Hebrew newspaper depicting a figure in Old Jerusalem. Signed “Emil” in the bottom right. Framed without glass affixed to a white mat and contemporary black lacquer frame. Artist label affixed to verso. In Excellent condition. Bold and crisp with no holes, rips or tears. Displays handsomely. Painting measures 18” x 12” and 25” x 19” with the frame. This is likely a contemporary Emil Brand as opposed to the Holocaust survivor who passed in 1974 due to the barcode on the newspaper which wasn’t introduced on Israeli newspapers until the late 1970s 80s. Regardless, a brilliant painting worthy of displaying proudly.
