Georgian portrait of a Lady circa 1770 18th Century

Original Georgian portrait of a Lady circa 1770. Woman is clothed in a royal blue silk gown with round cuffs and is cut away as a Polonnaise. Her high headdress with sausage curls is surmounted with a sheer handkerchief held with a blue and pink ribbon. Painted on paper. The frame is wood and gesso and gilt. Frame is slightly warped and shows less than perfect condition as seen in the photos. 6 1/8″ tall by 5 1/8 wide with a loop ring on the back for hanging. Please review all photos for condition and ask any questions before bidding. As this is an original piece that is 250 years old, item is sold in as-is condition. From a smoke free pet free home.

A beautiful late 19thC portrait painting of a lady wearing an extraordinary pink gown and holding a feathered fan. Signed by listed French artist Paul Mathey (1844-1929) In overall good condition with patchwork and indentations on face, chest and upper arm. Doesn’t take away from beauty of subject. Housed in more modern frame, however piece is in original stretcher.
