Albert Borris Wash D.C. Massachusetts Artist Man on Hay Wagon WC Painting
Albert Borris (Washington D.C./ Massachusetts, IXX-XX Century) was born in Eastern Prussia, Borris studied at the academies in Konigsberg, Berline, and Dusseldorf. He immigrated to the United States in 1881, first living in Washington, D. C., before moving to the Boston area. The painting we have here is a watercolor on paper. it depicts a man on a hay cart being drawn by a pair of horses. The cart meanders down a dirt road, fall foliage with a post and rail fence can be seen in the landscape. The painting is signed lower right «A. Borris», it is housed in a simple gilt wood molding frame with caramel colored mat with protective glass front. Measures; sight size 9 1/2″ x 5 3/4″, framed 17″ x 13″ .
