THIS WORK HAS THE BRONZE SIGNATURE PLAQUE AFFIXED TO THE FRONT. IT DATES AROUND THE 1930s. GOOD OVERALL CONDITION. THE FRAMES HAVE WEAR AND SCRATCHES AS SHOWN. Welsh-born William Mason was a regular exhibitor with the McClelland Galleries in Belfast and at the Royal Academy. He studied at Newport College of Art from 1923-1927, the Royal College of Art from 1927-1931, and later taught at Scarborough School of Art and at St. Albans School of Art until retirement in the early 1970s.
