Mid 20thC. Ruth Forbes Urban Town Street Scene Landscape WC Painting

Ruth Forbes (American, XX Century) painting of an urban town street scene. it depicts a very close buildings with people talking in the street and a bicycle is resting on a pole. It’s very well done, a neat urban scene, I believe this was done when she traveled to Australia. The painting is housed in a simple black painted molding frame, the painting is floated on a white paper mat background, the frame has a protective glass front. The frame does not a hanging wire. Measures; painting 11″ x 16 3/4″, framed 13 1/2″ x 19 3/4″ .

William H. Hollis (New England, XX Century) oil on canvas painting of a wood shed with homestead attached in the background, in the forest there is a figure wearing yellow splitting wood on the right. This is a winter scene with snow on the ground aa you can see trees void of their leaves. The painting is signed lower right «William H. Hollis» and is unframed. It has a neat feel to it with the black outlined design throughout. I am sure once framed this painting will really pop. The back of stretcher it is titled «Honey Wild Cherry», the canvas is signed «Painted by William H. Hollis, March 1946». Measures; painting 10 1/8″ x 12 1/16″ .
