Presenting a very nice 19th century landscape by Henry Webster Rice. Born in Pownal, Maine, he died in Watertown, Mass in 1934. He was a member of the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters , and the Guild of Boston Painters. He exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Art Institute of Chicago, and among many others The Boston Museum of Fine Arts. His paintings are permanently displayed in many museums and private collections. The painting on paper reveal measures approx. 18 1/2” x 12 1/2”. The frame approx 27”x 22” The painting is in good condition with a possible scuff in upper left side. The mat has typical aging but very presentable . The period painted gilt wood frame is in good condition. Titled on the verso The Tree – 1886. The dark area on the verso is a shadow. Please note we sell antique or vintage items.
