Martha Elizabeth Moore (1913 – 1982) 20th Century New Jersey/New York Modernist best known for figure paintings, illustrations, designs, prints, and art education. Original signed oil painting on canvas board Titled Ballet Class Resting Canvas: 16″x 11.75″ Frame: 20.25″x 16.25″ Signed lower right–see photos Looks very good, in «as found» original condition, minor surface grime, two small paint drops lower center, minor frame wear– please look at photos carefully. Fantastic composition by Martha Moore! This painting depicts young ballet dancers relaxing in between lessons; one figure is seen knitting, and another taking a smoking break. This is a fine example of Moore’s work with a fantastic subject and in very good condition. My price of $899 is extremely reasonable and far below what one would be expected to pay for it in a gallery or at auction. Please check out the other artwork in our store on ebay.
