Russell Dowson (1841-1914) – Framed 1888 Watercolour, Windsor from the Thames

His art education is not known but his early career shows him working as a sugar refiner and then an accountant. Dowson was a prolific exhibitor, including at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Dudley Gallery, Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, and Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
