Saidi Omary was born on July 7, 1979 in Msasani/Dar es Salaam. S. Omary’s efforts resulted in participations in exhibitions at the National Museum of Tanzania and at the embassy of France in Dar es Salaam.
IDDI LEOPARD AT SUNSET Classic Tingatinga painting on board 60cm by 60cm
This striking depiction of a leopard at sunset with a curly-haired boabab tree near the horizon. Painted by IDDI the first member of the Tingatinga Collective to have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. He comes from the famous painting family of Hashim Mruta. He was born the year ES Tingatinga was killed. Twenty years later Rajabu Chiwaya begin to teach him to paint. At 45 IDDI became the chairman of the Tingatinga Art Cooperative Society that had been founded by his relative Hashim Mruta. His paintings are found around the world and have been exhibited in Asia, Europe, and America.

IBRA (Ibrahim Omary) came into Tingatinga cooperative as a football player and was trained by Saidi Omary to paint. This is an example of one his few paintings on Masonite. He likes to painting animals who are watching the watcher with curiosity and equanimity.
