French painter, watercolourist, engraver and ceramist. Victor Dupont was admitted to the Municipal School of Drawing in Boulogne in 1889. In 1900, he married Fernande Jaspard and moved to Paris. Appreciated by Guillaume Apollinaire, the artist moved to the workshop of La Ruche and exhibited in 1903 at the Salon des Indépendants. In 1904, he began at the Salon d’Automne, then continued in 1906, 1907, 1913, from 1919 to 1926, and finally from 1935 to 1941. He joined the fauves after the Salon d’Automne of 1905. In Montparnasse, he became friends with Paul Deltombe (1878-1971), Maurice Boudot-Lamotte (1878-1958), Émile Schuffenecker (1851-1934) and Maurice Denis. He mainly produces seascapes, portraits, interior scenes, and especially very colorful landscapes, with flamboyant tones and tawny.
