Framed Byron Wolfe Listed Cowboy Artist Mustang Wrangling Painting W/ Remarque This Byron B. Wolfe gouche watercolor painting of two Cowboys roping a wild Mustang is titled «When A Broken Rope Means Trouble». It is matted and framed under non-reflective glass. It is signed lower left, titled on the matting lower left and there is a Remarque illustration lower right which is also signed. The frame measures 20 1/4″ x 24 1/4″ and the painting is 11″ x 15 1/2″ the Remarque is 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″. There are two pieces of information about the artist and the painting on the back. Both the frame and the painting are in good condition, slight toning on the matting. Beautiful painting. Byron B. Carmela Marchese original gouche decoupage painting on canvas board of poppies is 14 in H X 11 in W, signed Marchese. While doing an internet search for more information on Marchese, I found two different spellings for a first name, Carmela and Carmelo. Confusing. I think the correct first name is Carmela, as there is a lot of info about her, and very little about Carmelo. The style of painting and choice of colors were similar, and the «Marchese» signature was identical on all the works I viewed, so it has to be the same person. Works by Carmela Marchese do not come up for sale very often. I inherited this one, it has been in our family since it’s original purchase, probably in the 1960s. It has been well taken care of, framed under glass, with no damage to the painting. The colors are still vibrant.
