Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state and federal duck stamp art contests, and her mother has sold work at a local gallery. Kristi studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA), and is also self-taught. She has sold work at local shows and galleries, and has exhibited in shows in New Orleans and in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College's Meadows Museum of Art, Artspace, the Bailey Gallery in downtown Shreveport, as well as the prestigious Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. In 2011, she was awarded a visual arts grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). In 2015, she was commissioned to create 29 paintings for the new University Medical Center in New Orleans. Her work was selected for the art poster (20th and 25th anniversary respectively) of the Sunflower Festival & Trail in Gilliam, Louisiana. She is a member of Louisiana Artists Inc and the Hoover Watercolor Society. Her artwork is collected nationally and internationally.
